Intellect and Heart

Intellect one day said to the heart

"I am a guide to those gone astray

Though bound to earth, i reach the heaven above
Just see how far reaching is my sway

I am cast in the mould of legendary Khizr
i am destined in the world to show the way

I am interpreter of the book of life
I am an attribute of divine display

You are but a drop of blood
i am the envy of ruby's ray"

You deal with outer manifestations
And i am aware of the inner fray

Knowledge is to you, intuition is to me
You seek god, I show to pray

Limit of wisdom is restless doubting
I am a cure for the malady of dismay

You are a lantern to illumine a spot
i am a lamp to illumine the way

You deal with the concept of time and space
I deal with the concept of Judgment day

To what lofty place i do belong
I am pedestal of God Almighty i say."

You are strong...
when you take your grief
and teach it to smile.

You are brave...
when you overcome your fear and
help others to do the same.

You are happy...
when you see a flower and
are thankful for the blessing.

You are loving...
when your own pain does not
blind you to the pain of others.

You are wise...
when you know the
limits of your wisdom.

You are true...
when you admit there
are times you fool yourself.

You are alive...
when tomorrow's hope
means more to you than yesterday's mistake.

You are growing...
when you know what you are
but not what you will become.

when you are in control of yourself and do not wish to control
others.

when you find your honor
is to honor others.

My Heart

My heart longs for the solace of Allah,
and my fingers grasp the Holy Qu'ran.
I bow to Him in my wonder
and hope my faith will never be gone.

Do You Know

My body is stretched, it's cracked, it's breaking
My muscles, my tendons, my body is aching
My arm fights my leg, my heart fights my head
My organs protest - they are turning to lead
I have but one body and it is divided,
Each part of it arguing, each argument one sided
The pain is excruciating - or at least it would be
If my nerves were connected, if my eyes could see
My body is numb, my mind in denial -
Well it's not going to matter in a little while.

The Ummah!

I am but a Man

What am I to do, I am but a man?
I shall fall and again of rising will I plan.
I am a sinner and again shall I sin.
For from being who one is, has anyone ever ran?
Such is the way I am, such are my thoughts.
Will you kill me, burn me or place on be a ban?
I live on the hope that one can repent.
And on that hope will I live, do what you can!

Make Me Strong

I know I’m waiting
Waiting for something
Something to happen to me
But this waiting comes with
Trials and challenges
Nothing in life is free
 
I wish that somehow
You’d tell me out aloud

I Yearn Not To Feel

I yearn not to feel,
not to experience this pain

This emotion that breaks me,
and makes me whole once again

Sitting beside the memories, that cause me to go insane
I wish they would fall from me, like clouds cry tears of rain

Holding on to the time passed by -
but for how long
will you keep playing the same songs?

Scared to let go? Aren't we all.
Scared to realise that this is a lie,
but then why does it seem so real?

What a Smile Hides

A smile hides the lies
That no one can abide
A smile hides the tears
That wish to drain from the eyes because of fears
A smile hides the hate
And keeps it behind its unbroken gate
A smile hides the pain
That comes without gain
A smile hides the sorrow
Of another gloomy tomorrow
A smile hides what we truly feel
And turns the lies into something real

The Caged Soul

The cage around my soul
Is built by my finite flesh.
Invisible yet existing!
Fragile yet forceful!
If only I could see through the web of my desires
If only I could burn and beat my Satan
I can find the golden enviable key,
To unlock the gate of my self made cage.
What stops me is the fear
The forbidden fear!
Of the ones who fear themselves
Of those who are fatal like me
Of those who are trapped in the same black old cage.
May curse be upon such fear!
If only I could break that barrier
And be blessed with the key
I’ll never see the sky
And bow till I die.
One step! is all it takes
And I’ll be skies, clouds, and stars
Away from all fears
To the fear of my only Lord!
