Oh Allaah, Help Me Reach Ramadan
Oh Allaah, extend my life so much, that I enter the month approaching me,
So that I can have my share of the blessings therein showered by Thee
For it is only Your will that does to a life bring an end
Or grant it time to live, to regret, to repent and make an amend
Oh Allaah, the month of blessings every year passes by your slaves
And by the end for few more days of it the heart craves
You know Your Creations better than anybody anywhere
Let not the coming Ramadan pass leaving me in despair
Oh Allaah, help me to draw closer to You, to make myself dearer to You,
Distance me from things You wouldn't want on THE DAY nearer to You
Help me to take the Quran, through my eyes into my heart
Help me to shed my sins and make a fresh start
Oh Allaah, give me good health therein, cause me to sleep very little
Be my strength oh Allaah, without You I am a soul very brittle
The night better than a thousand months You jeweled into Ramadan
The night which You had chosen to reveal the glorious Qur'an
Oh Allaah, help me in my efforts to seek that blessed night
Help me make Your Praises control my speech, hearing and sight
Oh Allaah, in Your showers of mercy and blessings I wish to get drenched
Through Your Guidance, Mercy and Grace I want my sins to be quenched
Oh Allaah, I beg You to answer me when in these words I call upon Thee
"Oh Allaah, You are Oft-Pardoning and You love to pardon, so pardon me"!
Oh Allaah if You so wish and I come out of it living,
Make me sinless as a newborn child, Oh All-Forgiving!
Oh Allaah, help me to start life anew, pleasing You always help me survive
To wait and prepare for another Ramadan help me strive!
Oh Allaah, I can never thank you enough for the month of Ramadan
Nor for the gift of light and Guidance, Your word - the Qur'an!
The BOOK which contains all I need in this life Ya Allaah!
And the key to the treasures You have promised in Jannah!
Oh Allaah, help me to take it closer to my heart this Ramadan
And as long as I live, guide me and help me to LIVE Qur'an!

Ramadhan is Coming
I can’t wait
In anticipation
The coming of the new moon
And the best month of the year
I hope I’m alive
Although I’m young
There’s no guarantee
That I’ll be here next month
Been waiting
Anticipating
Hoping
And silently praying
For a chance
To experience
Another Ramadhan
Last year I tried
To improve and change
Leave the bad habits
The drinking, womanising
Drugs and clubbing
Managed it for 30 days
But on Eid I went to a rave
I gave in, wasn’t brave
Went with the flow
And got totally smashed
Its true after Ramadhan Satan is unleashed
Since then it’s been downhill
Month after month
From one sin to many
The good deeds slowly fading away
And now I’m in debit
I just can’t deny it
My intentions are good
My heart is clean
But my actions tell another story.
I can do without food
But I can’t say no
When my mates invite me to a party
Life is a test
And I’ve failed so many
Is there hope for me?
Or am I destined to burn for eternity?
People judge me
Point and make accusations
But at least I’m honest
And not a fake wannabe Believer
I have realised that
No one is perfect
No one is doomed
Plenty of time to learn and improve
That’s what the Quran says
Gives me hope
And I must hold onto the Islamic rope
Mix with the good company
And not those who are misled by society
Say and practice impropriety
Time to make a pact
And correctly act
Obey Allah and his Rasool
And stop behaving and acting like a fool
Ramadhan is coming
Only a few days left
Time to clean up
Mind and soul
Ya Allah!
Just give me one more chance
I promise I will act like how I ought to
And make you proud of me
Your obediant servant and slave

Lailatul Qadr
A blessed night in which angels descend,
A special month for good deeds to ascend,
The night is still,
You feel a chill,
The month of mercy is close to an end
A prayer mat set
Peace in your heart,
As you reflect on the deeds
You’ve gained from the start,
Prepare to benefit,
From the bounties of your Lord,
An odd day it falls upon
Hasten for the reward!

Fasting
in the stomach's emptiness.
We are all lutes, no more, no less.
If the soundbox is stuffed full of anything, no music.
If the brain and the belly are burning clean
with fasting, every moment a new song comes
out of the fire. The fog clears, and a new energy
makes you run up the steps in front of you.
Be emptier and cry like reed instruments cry.
Emptier, write secrets with the reed pen.
When you're full of food and drink,
Satan sits where your spirit should,
an ugly metal statue in place of the Kaaba.
When you fast, good habits gather like friends
who want to help. Fasting is Soloman's ring.
Don't give it to some illusion and lose your power.
But even if you've lost all will and control,
they come back when you fast, like soldiers
appearing out of the ground,
pennants flying above them.

Ramadan is back
Ramadan is back
Alhumdulillah still alive
to see its blessed days
Taqwa I hope I am able to achieve
Before again it takes leave
The days are quickly slipping away
Pray I am able to make the most of each day
Who knows whether this maybe my last
Next Ramadan I might already be buried and forgotten in the past!

Ramadhan is gone
Ramadhan was here.
Ramadhan's now gone.
Let us make the most of the month
For it is not here for long.
Let us do dhikr and pray
And worship Allah all day
Before ramadhan is gone
For it is not here for long.
Less than nine days till the end
Durood on Nabi (S) we should send
Continuously for our rewards will be doubled
Before ramadhan is gone
For it is not here for long.

Ramadan is here
by Ahmed
Ramadan is here, its here!
Ramadan oh so dear, so dear
During this month we must fast
Opportunity for our good deeds to amass
From food and drink we abstain
Satan this month is put on a chain
Wake late in the night for Tahajjud
Pray like you really truly should
Duas at this early hour readily accepted
Almighty Allah hears all, the Most Elevated
Then eat your delicious suhoor food
Throughout the day don’t be in a mood
Muslims fast all over worldwide
Rewards in this month multiplied
Your eyes will soon open up wide
Looking at all those samosas fried
But don’t just anxiously await the iftaar
Make dua, ask to be kept from sins afar
Recite the Holy Qur’an much
Each and every sunnah try to clutch
Make good speech your norm
Extra Nafl salaah do perform
Having kept your fast during the day
At night Taraweeh stand and pray
Practise the beautiful way of our Prophet*
And for eternity hereafter increase your profit!
* Peace and Blessing upon him
May Allah give us all the ability to make the most of this blessed month of Ramadan, ameen.

Month of Mercy
Welcome to Ramadan, the month of mercy.
Sit yourself calm and witness the beauty.
Feel the pure breeze under the shade of palm trees,
Forgiveness - even if sins stretch seven seas.
The month of reflecting on the life we’ve spent
And how it healed after every dent.
The time to realize your true objective
And to live Islam fully and not selective.
The time to appreciate the food and drink.
To unite rich and poor and provide the link.
The month of the struggle to grasp your soul,
For the next eleven months, in full control.
This is the time when the gates of hell are shut.
The devil is locked up and his work is cut.
The doors of mercy are opened up wide
And Allah’s blessings are always on your side
This is the month when the Qur’an was revealed,
The last revelation – the door had been sealed.
A true guidance for the whole of mankind,
No better words elsewhere will we ever find.
This is the month in which falls the Night of Power,
‘Better than a thousand months’, the blessings shower.
The angels descend on us so that they may see
The faces of believers in tranquility.
Don’t ignore this Ramadan; it could be your last.
Strive to obtain Allah’s pleasure and hold your fast.
Tomorrow could be your final day, be prepared.
Seize today by the neck and have no chance spared.

Ramadan
Abstain from food, drink and cohabitation
Maintain your nightly trips to Masjid for Taraweeh
Absolve yourself from Hellfire through seeking forgiveness
Deeds of good, never too many to have
Attempt to find and utilise the Night of Power in the odd nights of the last 10
Never return to the sins you have turned your back on in this month

The Blessed Ramadhan
In the name of Allah, the most Merciful, the most Kind
A blessed month is casting its shadow upon us
a night of this month is better than a thousand months
Bear with patience for the sake of Ar-Rahman
A continuous training to strengthen our Imaan.
Glory be to Allah who sent Ramadan as a mercy to mankind
Its a purification of our soul, our heart, and our mind
With the most sincere devotion and love we fast
To be cleansed and free from sins of the past
Glorified is He, who choseth this holy month
To test our sabr and fill our hearts with warmth
Of his Divine Light, His blessings shall glow
The Seer of the unseen, all He does know
Ya Allah! For thee, let my breath be more pleasant than musk
Ya Allah! For thee, let me be thankful when day turns to dusk
My thoughts and heart are purified, my eyes truly see
This blessed month, the month of spiritual rhapsody!
Ya Allah! For thee, my life I shall live!
Ya Allah! For thee, my soul I shall give!
In the name of Allah, the most Merciful, the most Kind
Praise be to Allah, who sent Ramadan as a gift to mankind.

The Blessed Month
by Ahmed
The blessed month of Ramadan has begun
Food, drink and cohabitation Muslims worldwide shun
Fasting to fulfil the Islamic obligation
Striving to achieve for the hereafter a higher station
Reciting abundantly the Holy Qur’an
Doing as much Dhikr as they possibly can
Sharing the iftaar food with the family next door
Our common sins we make every effort to ignore
At night standing and performing the extra prayer
In this way the whole Qur’an recited we hear
And when this blessed month will end
Joy and festivities Eid ul Fitr will send!

Ramadhan
In the holy month of Ramadhan, We all must fast
Just before Fajr we have our sehri
At night we stand and tarawih we pray
We wish to acquire Taqwa
From evilness and sin, our souls have been freed,

Ramadan
author unknown
Ramadan is here, The month that is blessed;
Ramadan is here, The month we love best.
The month in which the Qur'an was sent;
A time of great blessing in which to repent.
Fasting for Allah is a great Muslim deed;
Controlling desires and Suppressing greed.
Ramadan is coming, Increase your Iman(faith).
Ramadan is coming, Recite the Qur'an.
Take "Suhoor" in the dead of the Night;
No eating or drinking during the daylight.
Refrain from bad deeds and repent your soul;
The pleasure of Allah is our only goal.
Even if there is hunger, remember your Lord
And wait until 'Iftar' to earn your reward.
Fasting is one of the gifts of Allah
Given to believers to increase 'Taqwah' (piety).
We pray to Allah to put right our hearts;
Ask for forgiveness from Allah and make a new start.
Raising our hands we ask for his 'Rahmaa';
Hear us our Lord and grant us 'Jannah'.
