Feelings
If i were to mock your mum or dad

My Husband
When the Storm came
He was my umbrella
He protected me from misery and pain
He moved every obstacle in my path
He always told me “it will be ok insha Allaah”
When I looked, he was always there
for me
he hardly left me
He spend his time with me
He seized my fears
He strengthened my will
He removed my doubts
He raised my security
His shoulder was mine

I could depend on him
He showed up out of nowhere...
And warmed my freezing heart
Freed my trapped mind
Never broke his promise to me
truthful
He made my life bright, effortless
He made me sleep with ease, whilst the world was collapsing on me
He would have protected me from bullets
He promised he will be there
until His Owner took him back

Teenage Love
For 18 years she was the apple of my eyes
But I was in for a surprise
As she got to know a boy
A sudden change and she wasn’t coy
Ah! She said I don’t understand
She has to have a friend
She has grown
And I am about to be overthrown
Overthrown by a boy – her first love
I was sad not so much as she was in love*
Love is natural
But she is still my 'baby girl'
All I asked from her is to consider
- The danger as he is after all “a stranger”
Study comes first and when you are really ready
Go ahead find a friend - a steady
Study and Steady? - She replied she could juggle
But I am not willing to take that gamble
As I have known cases – love interrupts
Study, family and all love disrupts
For a teenager, being in love is everything
As a father it kept me thinking!
Am I doing the wrong thing?
Love I am not curbing
It is just the timing
Priority is the thing
All I think was for her own good
But sad to say she misunderstood
Yet again there’s another matter
It makes me shatter
In choosing a friend or life partner
Rasulullah (saw) has mentioned the manner**
In all, Religion is the foundation
Property, beauty, wealth are just for a short duration
Has she forgotten what she learnt?
Just for the sake of love – she’ll get burnt
A parent can do so much
A prayer and a hope to Allah, in this state as such
That our baby girl realizes her mistake
As her future is at stake.

The Dunya
And nobody said it was going to be easy,
Who said it won't make you cry?
Did somebody tell you that you wouldn't trip, slip or fall?
Tell me, who made you think it isn't hard?
That your heart wouldn't be broken?
Mistreated?
Abused?
Tired?
Used?
Who told you it was going to be easy..?,
That you weren't going to make mistakes?
That you wouldn't fail?
Why do you keep saying you don't need me?
And I don't need you?
Who told you, you have to be alone?
That this burden, you have to carry on your own?
Test after test?
Trial after trial?
No sign of the end?
Is that what you’re waiting for?
Who said you wouldn't grow old?
That your health would always hold?
What made you think that he was yours?
And not a gift from Him?
What made you think you were perfect?
Well, who told you there couldn't be change?
Why do you keep remembering your old ways?
Didn't He show you the road to take?
And reminded you about him who wants you to go astray?
But He gave you tauba? An open way?
Why don't you take it?
Who told you it was going to be easy?
Give me their name!
Our worlds are so different.
But yet we are the same.
Didn’t they tell you, you're just a traveller?
That you have to cross this bridge?
That the other side is nothing like this my friend?
It is eternal bliss.
Didn’t they tell you about the drink that you'll sip? (inshaAllah)
By the Prophet's (s) hands?
That you'll be united with your loved ones, as happy as can be?
That you can invite them to your tea party?
Didn't they remind you, His Mercy overcomes His Wrath?
That no one is more Generous than He?
Didn't they describe to you the Gardens so green?
Where you'll sit and rest so peacefully?
Did they not tell you to think big and just try your best?
To keep going even when things seems dark?
Did they not guide you to make your intentions sincere?
To be genuine and honest, and to trust in He.
Did they not tell you, anything is possible?
Dreams can come true?
What you seek is what you will find?
So think positively.
Think good of He.
Nobody said it’s going to be easy.
But be patient my friend.
Don’t look down, look ahead.
And be for He...

Intellect and Heart
Intellect one day said to the heart
"I am a guide to those gone astray
Though bound to earth, i reach the heaven above
Just see how far reaching is my sway
I am cast in the mould of legendary Khizr
i am destined in the world to show the way
I am interpreter of the book of life
I am an attribute of divine display
You are but a drop of blood
i am the envy of ruby's ray"
"It's all true", the heart replied:
"But look at me, be as it may
You look at life's trauma and drama
I see through life's white and gray
You deal with outer manifestations
And i am aware of the inner fray
Knowledge is to you, intuition is to me
You seek god, I show to pray
Limit of wisdom is restless doubting
I am a cure for the malady of dismay
You are a lantern to illumine a spot
i am a lamp to illumine the way
You deal with the concept of time and space
I deal with the concept of Judgment day

For attractive lips
Speak words of kindness.
For lovely eyes,
Seek out the good in people.
For a slim figure,
Share your food with the hungry.
For beautiful hair,
Let a child run his or her fingers through it once a day.
For poise,
Walk with the knowledge that you will never walk alone.
People, even more than things, have to be restored, renewed, revived, reclaimed, and redeemed; Never throw out anybody.
Remember, If you ever need a helping hand,
you'll find one at the end of your arm.
As you grow older, you will discover that you have two hands,
one for helping yourself, the other for helping others.
The beauty of a woman is not in the clothes she wears,
The figure that she carries, or the way she combs her hair.
The beauty of a woman must be seen from in her eyes,
Because that is the doorway to her heart, the place where love resides.
The beauty of a woman is not in a facial mole,
But true beauty in a woman is reflected in her soul.

Allah
Allah is truly the Almighty,
Who can create by simply saying be,
His beauty is beyond our imagination,
Leaves you to ponder in fascination,
He holds all beauty.
To worship him is our duty,
It is He who gives life from the dead,
'Be' is just whats needed to be said,
Its amazing how he created us all from one soul,
To worship him alone should be our goal,
He loves us all like 70 mothers,
Its is only Him and no others,
Allah holds all power,
Worship him before the final hour,
He is Merciful, Forgiving...I can go on for days,
To Allah belongs all praise.

Salat is Better than Sleep
Salat is better than sleep
Salat is better than sleep
I hear this as my phone sings
Salat is better than sleep
and better then food that I eat
yet I struggle to get on my feet
Sleep is better than Salat
Sleep is better than Salat
thats what I hear but it is not me who speaks
The Ummah of Muhammad (SAW) sleep
rather then pray what has been ordained
may Allah forgive our mistakes which are grave
the birds tune I hear, praising their lord
but my sisters snore forgetting about their lord
I struggle to wake and make wudhu ever so slowely
but I am now ready
off the the mosque now since I'm ready
with my father by my side
I'm off to the mosque now
even the hypocrites attended fard salats in the mosque
so what am I if I do not pray in the mosque

Whispers of the Night

I pounded on the door of mercy as the world slept
And humbling myself before my Creator I wept
Hands raised high and head bowed I knelt
And dejectedly began to lament what I felt
With a torn heart I gave a tongue to my woes and fears
And in great anguish and sorrow I let flow my tears
With poignant emotions raging in me so fierce
I hoped that my prayers would the heavens pierce
Oh Maker of my destiny, Master of my fate I cried
Thou art the only refuge and succour for one so tried
'Tis before Thee alone that I bemoan
Sufferings of mine only to Thee known
Pains and torments that I can no longer bear
Hopes and wishes I can entrust only to Thy care
For 'Tis only the ocean of Thine infinite bounty that sustains all
And only Thy forgiveness that restores those that fall
'Tis to Thee alone Oh Benevolent that I extend my hands in plea
To whom besides Thee can this wretched soul flee
Forgive my sins and grant me my desires Oh Almighty
Reject me not, for nothing can redeem me save Thy mercy

A Little Patience Goes A Long Way
Ibn Rajab – rahimahullaah – said: (1)
…and it’s incumbent upon the believer to have a little patience
in order to reach by way of it to a lengthy rest.
If he gets impatient then he is,
as has been said by Ibn al-Mubaarak:
Whoever exercises patience,
then how little is the patience he will have to exercise.
And whoever is impatient,
then how little is the enjoyment he will have.
al-Imaam ash-Shaafi’ee – rahimahullaah -
used to recite (the following verses of poetry):
“O my soul! It is not, except a few days of patience;
As if the extent were but a few dreams.
O my soul! Pass quickly on through this world;
And leave it, for indeed life lies ahead of it.” (2)
:وكان الإمام الشافعي رحمه اللَه ينشد
يا نَـفـسُ مــا هِـــيَ إلاّ صَـــبـــرُ أَيّامِ
كَــأَنَّ مُـدَّتَــهـــا أَضــغــاثُ أَحــلامِ
يا نَـفْـسُ جـــوزي عَـنِ الـدُنــيا مُـبـادِرَةً
وَخَــلِّ عَـنـهـا فَـإِنَّ الـعَـيشَ قُــدامـــي

Beloved Habib,The best example of Allah's Mercy
Days pass to the sound of your praise
Counting the days till we can behold your blessed face
Beloved Nabi
The upholder of justice, maintainer of Mercy
What was it like that day, how did it feel
Stoned at Ta'if, yet you did not weep
They ignored the message yet you did not grieve
Beloved Habib,
The face of patience as life passed you by
when confusion rose inside, by your side you found your wife
To nurture your children to safeguard from misery
a loyal companion through worries and anxiety
Beloved Nabi,
Sabrun jameel, an example for us to live by
The year of sorrow, maybe the worst of your life
Allah's beloved but you went through more than most
Allah's beloved but luxuries you did not boast

Just one chance to sit in your company
To behold a face full of radiance and Mercy
To be in your presence just once, I ask from the Almighty
Hands raised to the heavens, Ya Allah let your habib love me

You Are All that is True
When wrong appears right
When it is only what you want it to be
The truth will never be a square peg in a round hole
It will never fit
No matter how hard you push it
No matter how hard you want it
Intention
So beautiful yet so hard
When channelled you lead to a ocean of happiness
But when my weakness lets my evil nafs take over
You take me to the sewer of my wants
Praise be to You
Oh Master of Masters
It’s through hardship
You made me realise what I had
It’s only through pain I return to You
I thought I knew it but You taught me
You taught me that I knew nothing
This world is not for me
Don’t ever make this world enough for me
Never let this head raise to look at another’s plate
Never let this man envy
Never let him look at another’s possessions and desire
Never let him be anything less than content.
Make the dua of Your beloved my dua and never leave me to myself for even the blink of an eye.
The blink of an eye.
Cars rust, clothes tear,
Money gets spent and looks wither away
All that will be remembered is sincerity
Sincerity for You
They care not what is lawful and what is not
Chewing on Riba, licking their fingers after
Chasing shadows as if the pleasure of this life are eternal
Their longing to be remembered is laughable
As if when they are gone their nearest won’t move on
As if from the sky they are not ants
If they bid for my contentment tell them I won’t sell
If they offer their wealth tell them to wash their souls and barter with that instead
All I get is one chance
Just one chance
Why would I spend that dreaming?
They lie
They go back on their word
They slip up
In the end You are all that is true
You were all that was ever true…
