Keep On Keeping On
You’ve gotta keep on keeping on
You’ve gotta keep your head up high
You’ve gotta work with what you got
And some day you will fly.
Poor kids pouring cold water in their cereals
Second hand clothes,
Surviving the only way they can,
Praying to Allah at night for things to get better soon.
Looking out the window to a road of concrete,
Dreaming of the day when you’ll be
standing on your own two feet.
Looking out the window, longing
For the day when you’ll get your chance
to Shine.
